CREW PBTC held a Tea Talk at Arya Tea Bar on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach. The featured speaker was
Sherryl Muriente, Public Realm Director of WPB Downtown Development Authority. Sherryl talked about her years of experience in creating conditions for meaningful connection through “Placemaking” rather than just “Space Making”. Creating shared spaces and programs can unite individuals, ideas, and cultural narratives in areas, bringing an intentional yet organic, cohesiveness to communities.
A special thank you to Arya Tea Bar for hosting the event. Arya Tea Bar is a brick-and-mortar shop who benefitted from some of the unique placemaking programs developed by the WPB Downtown Development Authority. Attendees learned how they used these programs to create a buzz within the local community before their doors even opened, and how they strive to create synergy with other local establishments to continue to bring the community together.
